Regulatory Bodies Involved in Health and Safety at Work


There can be found several regulatory bodies and official agencies around the world that are responsible for maintain the health and safety regulations at the workplace. This regulators are providing guidance, set standards and conduct inspections in order to ensure that employers are providing safe and healthy working conditions for their employees. Here are listed some of regulatory bodies work on for health and safety at work.

 1. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - United States: OSHA is a federal agency under the United States Department of Labor. It's responsible for setting and enforcing standards to ensure safe and healthy working conditions for employees.   8. Hi Shanika, nice article on the legal authorties that are involved in regulating policies pertaining to health and safety of employees. In my experience I have seen many companies operating without the presence of a safety officer. However my observation is that the companies that have a designated safety officer are highly reputed and often accredited by international organizations.
